Project Brief: A sloping garden was completely re-graded to create a larger area of flat lawn and gentle slopes of planting. Ragstone walls have been rebuilt to provide a better view up into the garden. Curved steps lead up from an enlarged dining terrace to a winding grass path and two lawns. The garden becomes much steeper and shadier towards the rear of the plot, stone steps lead up to a play area with a trampoline and a scrambling rope.
Planting: low growing grasses and evergreen subshrubs sweep up from the sunnier section towards the shadier area at te top of the garden. Banks are planted with ferns, sarcococca and evergreen grasses to stabiles the slopes and provide an evergreen tapestry.
Materials: Ragstone, Indian Sandstone and treated soft wood.
